Hello, My name is Crystal Zillwood I am professional contemporary dancer and student of Body-Mind Centering® with EmbodyMoves Organisation in Somatic Movement Education.

Since 20214 I have toured my solo and duet work for over a decade internationally and nationally, I hope you enjoy my showreel of Anthropologically based solo work called ‘Spirals’  exploring human evolution called ‘Evolutio’ , the intriguing nature of rest with ‘Sleep’ solo and ‘These Hands’ which honour my ancestors who have worked on the land as farmers for as long as they know.

I have also had the honour to collaborate with various gifted choreographers, filmmakers and performers.

‘Souls&Cells’ is an on going collaboration with Akeim Toussaint Buck . ‘Souls&Cells’ is another continuation of my passionate inquiry into human evolution, can our ancestor still be with us, what does our future hold and how can cellular wisdom guide us.

‘Metamorphosis’ a is wonderful film collaboration with Dan Canham exploring the natural transformative process of metamorphosis. This was inspired by my personal journey of loss and grief as well as celebrating resilience and hope. This is an ongoing curiosity that matches my love of how we evolve through natural life processes  and become altered and changed  from loss.

My most recent evolution and development is my ongoing inquiry and studies of Body-Mind Centering® in Somatic Movement Education. I am hoping to finish my studies but whilst I still study I offer classes and one to one session informed by BMC®

Body-Mind Centering® dives deep into the human anatomy and faciliates ways for particpants and students to learn how to experience the human anatomy. Body-Mind Centering® covers all the systems in the body from how the body begins evolutionary , then how it created in the womb to the fullest manifestion of it’s function and how we understand and experience everyday.
Body-Mind Centering® encapsulates and enlivens my love of exploring human evolution and gifts me way to facilitate workshops and sessions that gift experience for participant to explore this inquiry of the wise and ancient body that I believe we are still only scratching the surface what our bodies can do and hold.
